Whispers of Love

I promised my watchers I would write either a romantic or an inspirational freeverse poem. I went with romantic. I'm a sucker for it.

I dedicate this poem to whomever is to one day be my partner. I know that God has someone in store for me.

ConnectionsI take your palm inside of mine.
I feel the contours and the lines,
And with intentions so benign,
I tell you it'll all be fine.
My fingers run against roughness,
Over all your blisters and callouses;
But in contemplative consciousness
I see your hidden side- your softness.
No one else understands-
Not shrinks or strangers, family nor friends-
Your pains, your needs, what loving you demands,
The whim of your will, or the way your life bends.
I share in all your cries and all your groans.
I hear each and every time your soul moans.
And with tearful eyes, I want you to know:
Don't listen to their lies, you're not alone
Because my hand's now locked in yours;
I'm giving to you all my futures.
My inner wound shall become your bruise,
But my laughter'll always be your muse
In the background will sound the songs of our affection
As our hands together make our hearts' connection. Is there love between us?Do you ever stare up at the stars
And wonder if I'm doing so
As well all the while?
Do you ever look at me
Just to see me return your smile?
Simply to hear my voice speak,
And to let me know you'll listen,
Have you ever asked me
A dumb or random question?
Do you ever get that feeling
When our eyes meet and glisten,
And do you see in them
The proof of warm affection?
When you're near enough to hear me breath,
Do you count the breaths
And seconds in between?
Is a different side of you
In a different light
Ever shown to me?
A special side, kind and honest,
Sensitive and sweet?
Do you recognize, and I in turn,
What makes the other strong or weak?
If you caused my heart pain
In some little, minor way,
Would you feel the same;
Would you think of something nice to say?
When my burdened tears would fall,
Would you also stop and weep?
Hear and feel my meaning deep
Even when I make no peep?
A price for the good in me,
My faults, would you want to keep?
So long as it meant you
Forever would have
